Here one dances with shadows.
Flora, an Albanian journalist living in Europe, visits Albania and experiences the clash of two eras, past and present, as she uncovers her family's and her own history from the shadows of the past. Ziguri, formerly a security officer, reveals a secret of the past – a life-or-death relationship that only a system like communism could produce, and whose tentacles still extend into the present day. Miriam, the mother of Flores and a beautiful ballerina, brings the relationship of the past between the individual and the state with all its atrocities, leaving open the dilemma that demands a choice today. The individual, the state, love, and survival in a time of bugging, murder, rape, and persecution. Everything clashes with the love of life, in both eras, past and present. Meanwhile, the shadows of the past leap freely from one era to the next.
